If you've got your iPod plugged in while you're reading this article, we certainly hope you've already updated it with Steve Jobs'  latest software revision, version 1.2.3.

The biggest fix the new update resolves is the bug where songs and other content do not appear after updating to software version 1.2.2.

This update is applicable for Apple's iPod Classic, the third generation iPod Nano, as well as the fifth generation iPods. The rather spartan changelog says that it includes "bug fixes"; however, several users from iPodNN have filled in that it resolves general issues with games affecting song play counts, the iPod Nano's clock, problems with Cover Flow, and a spinning hard drive issue on the Classic.

The software update packs in at 58.2MB and is available through iTunes. If you still haven't updated it by the time you finish reading then then go ahead and select the Update feature on your respective gadgets.
