Mac OS X users can breathe a little easier now, thanks to the latest Security Update released by Apple. The new software update is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5, and is "recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X".

One of the more significant bugs addressed by Security Update 2008-005 was an issue with QuickLook, where loading malicious Microsoft Office files can lead to an "arbitrary code execution" error message. In addition, the update finally puts a clamp on the DNS vulnerability which has been plaguing OS X users all week.
