Big buzz circulated the Apple homebrew community when PsyKoh recently announced the release of Alpha 1 Preview version of Jiggy, an application creation suite for the iPhone. Apparently, the suite is offered for free to any interested takers, and it doesn't require the insane wrestling with Safari or tag-heavy HTML.

Jiggy appears to spew out user-created Javascript applications, known as JiggyApps. Jiggy is also a compilation of a runtime and mini plugins known as Jigglins, which provide added, modular capabilities to the application they were made for. A separate SDK is offered to develop Jigglins and can be used to package abilities that experienced iPhone toolchain users have unlocked for others to use.

"Getting Jiggy with it" is also a pretty convenient affair: the suite comes complete with a user-friendly integrated development environment (IDE), accessible over your Mac, Windows PC or Linux PC, or browser and Internet capable workstation.

Jiggy comes with a complete set of progressive tutorials - one for beginners (incomplete) and the rest from the community - to get Jiggy coders started on the right foot fast. A new dawn for Apple homebrew? Well, we'll just have to wait and Jiggysee!
