Apple 1.1.2 iPhone out on November 9 - Image 1The Apple UK press team has confirmed that they plan on releasing iPhone firmware version 1.1.2 this coming November 9 through iTunes.

Currently, no exact time has been revealed for this update but U.S.-based iPhone users can expect that they will get a prompt tomorrow if they want to upgrade to the new firmware, that is if they synced their iPhones with iTunes.

In case you missed our previous coverage, iPhone firmware 1.1.2 introduces wider language support, special character keys, and access to Cloud Wi-Fi hotspots for U.K. based users.

Users who have been using unlocked iPhones may want to know that rumors have been going around that this update will re-lock any unlocked units. Interestingly, Apple has declined to comment on this.

We'll wait to see if the firmware's release is better than the previous one. Hopefully, Apple acted upon the observations from members of the iPhone community regarding the last update.
