Asus confirms Apple Tablet PC - Image 1 A contact of the Crave CNET website from computer manufacturer Asus has reportedly confirmed that Asus is indeed working with Apple to create a Tablet PC. While this seems like a legitimate claim since Asus is Apple's contract manufacturer, this rumor can't be confirmed until an official announcement regarding this product has been made.

According to the reports, the Tablet PC will not be based on any existing designs in the market. It has been speculated that this might be an offshoot of the patent Apple filed back in 2006. Judging from what Apple has been producing the past year, we're agreeing with CNET's assessment that we can probably expect an interface similar to the iPhone and iTouch on a modified version of the Leopard OS X 10.

In the past, users who wanted to have a Mac based tablet would have to resort to modifying their own units or purchasing systems such as the ModBook from third party manufacturers. If this rumor holds true, then those days may be coming to an end.

this will be a useful tool. the average home user will be happy with an imac but anyone that does presentation or has the need to lug around their laptop when working with AV presentations for a number of environments such as events and exhibitions can now use a tablet. technicians for led screens and video walls etc will be able to lean a tablet somewhere which is often impossible to do with a laptop. It will also be a great tool for graphics as an artist can use a pen to draw direct to screen which right now is only available at great expense via the screens from companies as Wacom.
