Apple has released QuickTime 7.4.1 for users of Mac OS X 10.4.9 Tiger, Mac OS X 10. 3.9 Panther, Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, Windows XP SP2, and Windows Vista. This release is a recommended security update that patches a vulnerability that could cause arbitrary code execution or an unexpected termination of the application when visiting a malicious website.

"A heap buffer overflow exists in QuickTime's handling of HTTP responses when RTSP tunneling is enabled," said Apple. "This update addresses the issue through improved bounds checking."

Check out Apple's site to download the update that addresses these security issues. QuickTime 7.4.1 update is available in 55.5 MB for Leopard, 50.4 MB for Panther, 51.7 MB for Tiger, and 22.3 MB for Windows XP SP2 and Vista.
