Forget
about Apple shares falling after the launch of the Intel Mac. It's not
something they should be worrying about. Instead, the company should be
losing sleep over the idea of a Jobs-less Apple. Apple has experienced
life without Steve Jobs in 1985 and it had a very close encounter with
the bankruptcy kind, something that they don't want to happen ever
again, which is why Jobs got his job back in 1997. Jobs has been
involved in design and even marketing of its products, in fact he's too
involved that he became Apple in flesh and blood. That's a good thing
if he is immortal. But of course, he's not and that's the biggest
problem that Apple will have to face.No doubt, Apple has a great future ahead, perhaps getting more success in the digital entertainment market, rather than computers, but without Steve Jobs, things will not be the same. And what makes things a little worse is the fact that Apple has no clear successor to Steve Jobs. Apple says they have, but it's confidential. In a situation like this, we begin to see that cloning Jobs may be a very good option. |
