Measuring in at 0.76 inches at its thickest point, the MacBook Air is the thinnest notebook ever to hit the market. But how does it stand up against its predecessors, Apple's stalwart sellers, the MacBook and the Macbook Pro? Gizmodo recently ran some real world benchmarks on the MacBook Air, pitting it against the MacBook and the MacBook Pro. They ran some tests to see how much the three MacBooks differ from each other in speed. And the verdict? The MacBook Pro outperformed its siblings on all tests except one, which goes to the MacBook Air. Check out the results above by clicking on the image. Well, keep in mind the MacBook Air had to sacrifice some things to get that sexy. Here are the specs of the three MacBooks that they used in the tests:

I'm still happier with my desktop PC. No laptop under several thousand dollars MORE than what I spent building my PC could come close to it's power. If I want a computer that's small and portable, I'll just use my iPod Touch, thank you very much.
