There has been so much heat about the recently launched Apple Macbook, both figuratively and literally speaking. Ordinary consumers and critics have been saying that the Macbook just needs 30 minutes to really heat up. Recently, my fellow blogger pointed out that the culprit in this overheating scenario is the just-too-much application of thermal grease. Well we don't know about that, those are merely speculations. But apparently this one is a true story (if we are to believe discussion threads that is). In one of the many Apple forums, a man with the pseudonym Voodoo Murphy was sharing that he has a Macbook Pro, and he was driving home from Disneyland with his wife. She had the MacBook on her lap and was watching a movie from the hard drive, and according to him it got hot enough to actualy burn her leg (left photo). The guy called Applecare and explained to them what happened, and the specialist told him that "in the manual, it says that the device shouldn't be placed on your lap" granted that the Apple specialist apologized for the overheating incident, but still Voodoo Murphy got the dreaded "Read the Manual" response. Whether it was Apple's fault or that of the consumer's, well, you be the judge of that. |

That burn is a bit bad and it's not like a computer just goes from idle to BURNING HOT!
What else could you expect from apple? A 'laptop'...
Actually I guess they are calling it a...book? (WHY!?!)

Why even make a portable computer if it's not meant for your lap? If you're on a bus or bart or something what are you supposed to do? Request a table? I like Apple products but the Macbooks are borderline retarded. They need to fix this issue or stop making them if they can't keep the heat down in my opinion

They are working on this issue they do not want to loose costumers. This takes time every product has defects that they missed so soon they will be fixed..
